User Agreement
1. Each organization is solely responsible for posting and updating its content.
2. Registration is free.
3. Greater Mankato Area United Way reserves the right to refuse requests for any reason including, but not limited to, requests from any organization whose volunteer programs:
a. are found to be contrary to the spirit of volunteerism;
b. are partisan in their politics;
c. replace or displace paid staff;
d. are restrictive to or discriminate based on race, color, religion, creed, age, sex, national origin or ancestry, marital status, veteran status, sexual orientation or status as a qualified disabled or handicapped individual, except as permitted under law; or
e. violate any other portion of this Policy and User Agreement.
4. Organizations shall provide assurance of or proof of status as a non-profit organization.
5. Organizations must comply with local, state and federal laws and regulations governing discrimination.
6. Organizations agree to:
a. provide a safe environment in which to work;
b. contact referred volunteers at the earliest opportunity and refer unplaced volunteers to United Way;
c. provide volunteers with service descriptions, orientation, training, supervision, evaluation and recognition;
d. consider conducting lawful background checks for all volunteers;
e. not require a monetary charge to volunteers for their offered services;
f. include at least one volunteer opportunity annually;
g. update volunteer opportunities semi-annually or more frequently, if needed; and
h. notify United Way of contact information changes and volunteer opportunity fulfillments.
