Community Impact Teams

Greater Mankato Area United Way’s annual review process determines the distribution of campaign funds and ensures your dollars are invested wisely and efficiently.

About the Community Impact Teams

Each spring, approximately 90 Community Impact volunteers break into teams to review funding applications, interview the nonprofit agencies and discuss the best allocation of funds. Each volunteer dedicates 10-12 hours between March and May. The volunteer commitment includes reviewing applications, going on site visits with their team and making a recommendation to the Greater Mankato Area United Way Board of Directors on how funds should be distributed to ensure our region is staying balanced in the areas of basic needs, health and education. The review process also provides an avenue to address gaps and needs in the region.

We are beginning to form Community Impact teams for this spring’s funding cycle.

Volunteer on the Community Impact Teams

Learn about the local non-profit agencies, the program's that impact our region, who they serve, and how United Way contributions are meeting these needs. Each volunteer will have the opportunity to meet, work with and get to know other concerned community leaders, volunteers and service providers. This process is designed to help volunteers gain experience in community and group decision-making processes.

This year’s site visits take place between March - May.

We need additional volunteers in order to make this community driven process a success!

Allocation Process

The Allocations Process determines the distribution ("allocation") of United Way funds. This annual review happens every spring and is open to non-profits meeting Health & Human Service needs in the greater Mankato area. In short, this rigorous process means that United Way is serious about how it invests one of its key resources: your dollars.
