Greater Mankato Area United Way will kick off its 2016 campaign outdoors, 12 to 1 p.m. on September 2 at the Intergovernmental Center Plaza (12 Civic Center Plaza, Mankato).
Keynote speakers are Scott and Lisa Wojcik and their family, who have worked with several United Way partner agencies. Other speakers include United Way president Barb Kaus and campaign chair Todd Snell.
Highlighting the 2016 campaign theme “Growing Up Strong,” the event will culminate with regional Pacesetters (companies that have pledged $500+ prior to the Kickoff) pulling a 30,000-pound semi truck up Hickory Street.
“Our region is home to incredibly giving individuals, families, partner agencies and businesses,” said Kaus. “The semi pull shows how much we can accomplish when we work together to build a better tomorrow for us all.”
United Way’s 2016 Campaign Kickoff is free and open to the public. Light lunch will be provided. This event is sponsored by United Prairie Bank.
Rain location will be in the Verizon Wireless Center banquet hall.
